Vietnam Aims to Become a Responsible and Sustainable Food Supplier for the World

From April 24 to 27, the 4th Global Conference on Sustainable Food Systems will be held in Hanoi. On the 18th, a press conference was held in Hanoi to announce the event.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep stated that this conference will not only promote Vietnamese agricultural products but also reaffirm Vietnam’s commitment to becoming a responsible and sustainable food supplier for the world.

“Vietnam bears responsibility not only for its own food security but also for global food security. To achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, Vietnam is transitioning toward clean, green, and responsible production.”

Amid new global crises, the conference—held under the theme “Steady and Sustainable Transformation of Food Systems to Respond to Climate Change”—will focus on discussing global models for food systems, agricultural management policies of different countries, and production and consumption models for agricultural products. It will also examine barriers and challenges in transforming food systems and propose practical solutions for implementation.
