(VOVWORLD) – The construction of this hospital is part of the investment plan of Tokyo Health Science University Vietnam, which was completed in July 2016. The university, established by the Waseda Health Sciences Educational Corporation, is the first and only Japanese private university in Vietnam, and also the first foreign-invested medical university in the country.

Located in the Ecopark urban area in Van Giang District, Hung Yen Province, about 14 kilometers from central Hanoi, the Tokyo Health Science University Hospital officially opened on September 5.
This is the first Japanese university-affiliated hospital in Vietnam, where Japanese medical experts provide treatment using state-of-the-art medical equipment.

The hospital initially has 80 beds, with a total investment of about 40 million USD (approximately 5.8 billion yen).
It also features facilities such as a café, restaurant, yoga studio, and VIP patient area.

The university offers programs in nursing, physical therapy, and clinical laboratory science, with Japanese language education as a compulsory subject, thereby promoting the training of highly skilled medical professionals.

Professor Mari Kusumi, President of Tokyo Health Science University Vietnam, reflected on the ten-year journey from her first visit to Ecopark to the hospital’s opening, overcoming many challenges.
She expressed her vision for the future, stating:

“Based on our philosophy of compassion and supporting people’s health and happiness, we aim to provide medical care that will continue for 100 years through Japan–Vietnam collaboration.”

Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen expressed his hope that the hospital would focus on patient-centered operations, provide world-class services, and promote advanced scientific research, thereby bringing Japanese-standard medical care to Vietnam.
Nguyen Thi Anh, Director of the Hung Yen Provincial Department of Health, also extended her congratulations, expressing her expectation that the hospital would contribute to the provision of high-quality foreign-invested healthcare, improving residents’ well-being and supporting local economic development.
