(VOVWORLD) – As previously reported, on the 12th in Tokyo, a financial and investment promotion conference themed “Vietnam – A Destination for Investment” was held under the auspices of the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance. The event was attended by representatives from about 250 Japanese and Vietnamese companies.

At the meeting, Vietnam’s Minister of Finance, Mr. Ho Duc Phuc, presented Vietnam’s policies on attracting both indirect and direct investment as well as on the development of the financial market. He affirmed that the Ministry would work closely with relevant ministries and agencies to address difficulties faced by Japanese enterprises and investors, stating:

“We are implementing consistent policies toward all investors, whether they are from the private sector, state-owned enterprises, or foreign companies. All enterprises are treated equally. Our policy is to ensure equality, fairness, and transparency in economic activities.”

During the conference, representatives from the General Department of Customs, the Department of Taxation, and the State Securities Commission answered various questions concerning customs procedures, preferential tax policies, and the potential of Vietnam’s financial market.

Meanwhile, Mr. Takafumi Oue, Head of the Daiwa Securities Hanoi Office, expressed his view that given the potential and development direction of Vietnam’s economy—particularly its financial market—the number of foreign investors, especially from Japan, investing in Vietnam’s securities market will sharply increase in the coming years.
