Vietnam is ready to cooperate with Japan and other CPTPP member countries to effectively implement the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). This was emphasized by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during a meeting with Japan’s Minister for Economic Revitalization and CPTPP Affairs, Yoshitaka Shindo, at the government headquarters on the afternoon of the 9th.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh expressed Vietnam’s intention to collaborate with Japan and other member countries to fulfill, review, and enhance the effectiveness of the CPTPP. This initiative aims to bring further benefits to businesses and citizens and strengthen CPTPP’s role in regional and global trade.
Regarding Vietnam-Japan bilateral relations, Prime Minister Chinh reiterated that relations are developing strongly across all areas and match the comprehensive strategic partnership established last year.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Chinh proposed that the Japanese government support Vietnam in industrialization and modernization based on science and technology, innovation, green development, digital economy, circular economy, sharing economy, and knowledge economy, as well as cooperate with Vietnam in areas such as agricultural experience sharing, climate change response, labor, education and training, grassroots exchange, and tourism.
Meanwhile, Minister Yoshitaka Shindo agreed with Prime Minister Chinh’s views, stating that “the areas of cooperation proposed by Prime Minister Chinh not only contribute to Vietnam’s development but also benefit Japan’s economic growth.” He also requested Vietnam to continue closely coordinating with Japan and other member countries to effectively implement the CPTPP.
