The draft amendment to the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners aims to provide more favorable conditions for foreigners entering, exiting, transiting, and residing in Vietnam.
Specifically, the government proposed extending the duration of electronic visas from the current 30 days to a maximum of 90 days and issuing electronic visas to citizens from countries worldwide.
In addition, the electronic visa system will allow not only single-entry visas but also multiple-entry visas. The duration of visa exemptions will also be extended from the current 15 days to 30 days. Nguyen Hai Dzung, a National Assembly deputy from Nam Dinh province, said:
“Allowing foreign tourists to stay longer in Vietnam brings us better revenue. To provide favorable conditions for this, the draft law includes issuing electronic visas to citizens of countries worldwide and granting multiple-entry visas.
